Burnaby and our history
February 8, 2007 by Donald.
I was able to attend the recent sectional in Burnaby. On Saturday, I saw the large collection of trophies, representing the many competitions that the Vancouver unit manages. There are some great players that have their names permanently engraved on those trophies. I wonder though, are we going to lose the stories and histories that go with those names, and with those accomplishments.
The ACBL is currently involved in an archiving project, working to preserve the history of our game and of the players that have been a part of it. Perhaps our units and district should be doing a similar project, preserving the local history of bridge. Almost every bridge player loves to hear a good story, and there are many that might be lost to time. Let’s not let that happen. Post your thoughts in the comment section.
